Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, reviews the guard of honour during a welcoming ceremony outside the Legislative Assembly in Edmonton, Alberta, on May 4, 2006. The guard of honour included members of the first and third battalions of Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. The Governor General conducted her first regional visit to Alberta from May 4 to 6, 2006. During her three-day visit, Her Excellency focused on building dialogue and forging links with as many Albertans as possible, including the military and their spouses, school children and youth, as well as community volunteers.
