Public invited to attend Royal Visit activities at Rideau HallOctober 10, 2002 OTTAWA – Her Excellency the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson, Governor General of Canada, and His Excellency John Ralston Saul will host Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh at Rideau Hall from Saturday, October 12 to Tuesday, October 15. The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will participate in a number of activities commemorating Her Majesty's Golden Jubilee. The public is invited to witness a tree planting ceremony and a commemorative marker viewing on Monday, October 14, at 2:45 p.m. The grounds of Rideau Hall will open at 2:00 p.m. Visitors are asked to enter via the Thomas Street Gate. Space will be limited. Please note that the grounds of Rideau Hall will be closed to the public from Saturday, October 12 to Tuesday, October 15 inclusive, with the exception of Monday afternoon as indicated above. Parking will not be available for the general public and the events will take place rain or shine.
