Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, “white-hatted” by His Worship Dave Bronconnier, Mayor of Calgary, during an official welcoming ceremony at City Hall on May 6, 2006. The Governor General conducted her first regional visit to Alberta from May 4 to 6, 2006. During her three-day visit, Her Excellency focused on building dialogue and forging links with as many Albertans as possible, including the military and their spouses, school children and youth, as well as community volunteers.
