During their visit to Qu’Appelle, Governor General Michaëlle Jean and Mr. Jean-Daniel Lafond took part in a community gathering at the school. Earlier in the day, the Governor General visited the Treaty 4 Governance Centre in Fort Qu’Appelle and toured the town on foot. The Governor General conducted her first regional visit to Saskatchewan from May 8 to 10, 2006. During her three-day visit, Her Excellency focused on activities that empowered groups of diverse backgrounds, from youth and First Nations to residents of North Central Regina’s inner city, to be heard.
