The Speech from the Throne – April 4, 2006

Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada Michaëlle Jean listens to the Vice-Regal Salute and the 21-Gun Salute at the foot of the Peace Tower before inspecting the guard of honour on April 4, 2006. Governor General Jean then entered the Senate Chamber in Ottawa to deliver the Speech from the Throne that opened the first session of the 39^th Parliament of Canada.
