What if I'm injured at work or develop an illness as a result of work?
If you have an injury or develop an illness as a result of your work, take the following steps:
- Report your condition immediately to your supervisor;
- Get immediate medical attention, if required;
- Fill out a WCB Accident Report, or have your supervisor complete one; and
- Stay in regular contact with your employer, doctor and us.
Your employer must:
- Provide first aid, if required;
- Ensure that you get immediate medical care (which includes transportation to the nearest appropriate health-care facility); and
- File a WCB Accident Report, within 5 days of becoming aware that an injury or illness occurred. We must receive it within 8 days.
