- A premium refers to the cost of enrolling into an insurance plan.
A deductible is a flat amount that an insured individual must pay for
a service; costs above this amount are eligible for insurance coverage.
Co-payment refers to a cost-sharing arrangement between the insuree
and the insurer outlining the amount to be paid by each for a specific
service. Government drug insurance plans may include any combination
of these kinds of charges.
