  12. A premium refers to the cost of enrolling into an insurance plan. A deductible is a flat amount that an insured individual must pay for a service; costs above this amount are eligible for insurance coverage. Co-payment refers to a cost-sharing arrangement between the insuree and the insurer outlining the amount to be paid by each for a specific service. Government drug insurance plans may include any combination of these kinds of charges.
