Charged with the responsibility of training aircrew and technical support
personnel for employment on the Hercules and
Polaris Aircraft, 426 Squadron carries out
some 109 serials of 35 different courses every year. It graduates approximately
900 personnel annually.
In 1995, the school underwent extensive renovations, allowing the majority
of Squadron members to work in one building. The acquisition of state-of-the-art
computerized training aids and ADP equipment
made it an extremely well equipped training facility.

The mandate to train aircrew and technicians also provides extensive
opportunities for the Squadron to participate in many current theatres
of operation around the world.
In Spring 2000, the Squadron completed an upgrade
to it flight simulator. The changes included
a new motion base, new visual system and upgraded avionics equipment.
Also in 2000, the Squadron unveiled its new totem
pole through a project jointly funded by our Squadron Association
and the Canadian Millennium Partnership Program and opened a new building
housing the Cargo Compartment Trainer.
