429 Transport Squadron429 Transport Squadron operates the CC-130 Hercules to meet its global airlift commitments - "Anyplace, Anytime, Anywhere."

The Squadron's mandate for strategic and tactical air transport provides rewarding training and deployments in support of Canada's interests around the world. Our Squadron is busy on many fronts, as shown by the many UN and humanitarian missions we are tasked to do.

Our strategic air lift missions provide important sustainment support to Canadian Forces and embassy personnel to all Continents - from Canadian Forces Station Alert in the High Arctic to re-supplying troops in the former Yugoslavia.

Our Tactical Airlift crews are active in training the Army's airborne capability, taking part in Tactical Airlift competitions and exercises such as Maple Flag, Red Flag, Bullseye and Rodeo. We also provide crews for important development and testing projects such as Embow Trail.

429 Squadron has been exceptionally busy in recent years. In 2000, we took part in Operation Toucan, airlifting troops and equipment into the beleaguered country of East Timor.

We recently completed conversion of our crews to the Avionics Upgrade Program, a new electronic cockpit for the CC-130 Hercules Aircraft.
