A classic Aircraft of the 30's and 40's, the Westland Lysander was kindly known as "Lizzie". It had a rare STOL (short takeoff and landing) ability for its time and was used in the dangerous role of transporting Resistance soldiers to and from France during the war. In Canada, the Aircraft was also used extensively in the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan program.
