North American P-51 Mustang

The Mustang Mk 4 entered Canadian service in 1947
and number CB*569 belonged to Central Air Command Composite Flight
located at RCAF Station Trenton. The Mustang Mk 4 was the RCAF's
first modern post-war fighter and equipped mainly auxiliary squadrons
until the late 1950s.

This interesting photo shows a restored RCAF North
American Harvard, a North American P-51 Mustang, and a second Harvard
done up in the Goldenhawks aerobatic display team colours.

Number 9298 was a North American NA-122(P-51) Mustang
Mk.IV, one of 130 serving with the RCAF from June, 1947 to August
1961. 9298 was taken on strength in March, 1951 serving with Training
Command at RCAF Station Sea Island and now belongs to the Canadian
War Museum in Ottawa, Ontario.
