Canadian Vickers Velos G-CYZX was the Air Force's
one and only of this type and was on strength for only a year from
18 November, 1927 to 30 November, 1928. In 1926 the Department
of National Defence awarded a contract to Canadian Vickers to design
and construct an Aeroplane for Photographic Surveying. However,
with the design completed and construction of some of the components
well under way, if not complete, the specification requirements
were changed, eventually resulting in an Aircraft that the RCAF
designated test pilot summarized as: "It is considered that
this Aircraft is most unsuitable for any operation carried out
in the Royal Canadian Air Force."
