Recent Graduates of NFTC

Lieutenant Hugues Samson

Lieutenant Hugues Samson of Quebec City, Quebec was presented with his military pilot wings during graduation ceremonies held at 15 Wing: McEwen Airfield Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on Friday, 9 June 2006 following completion of Phase III of the NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC) program.

At 12, his father brought him to an air show where he decided that piloting would be an exciting career. Lieutenant Samson  is a graduate of both Laval University, from which he received a Bachelorate of Mechanical Engineering, and Chicoutimi College where he obtained an Aviation Diploma as well as his commercial, multi-engine Instrument Flight Rules rating.

Following Basic Officer Training he proceeded to Moose Jaw to commence pilot training, learning to fly both the CT-156 Harvard II turboprop and the CT-155 Hawk jet aircraft.

Lieutenant Samson is posted to 2 Canadian Forces Flying Training School based at 15 Wing-McEwen Airfield Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, where he will be an instructor on the Harvard II.
