The
mission of the 722 Support Squadron is two fold.
The 32 American personnel belonging to the USAF's 722 Squadron work
in the underground complex of the Canadian Sector Air Operations Centre
(SAOC).
They are responsible for providing operational resources, aerospace surveillance
and control, attack warning and assessment, counter-drug operations and
damage-limiting operations in defence of North America.
The Squadron also provides centralized control of aerospace resources
for all of Canada and identifies all air breathing movements into Canada.
At the same time, the Squadron ensures bi-national forces are trained,
equipped and prepared for air sovereignty of Canada and carries out national
