Greenwood is the fastest growing community in Nova Scotia, largely thanks to the consolidation and restructuring of the Canadian Forces. The Village of Greenwood and 14 Wing Personnel Married Quarter's together have a combined population of approximately 4,500 people.

Since its beginnings as a WWII training station for allied airmen, the base has enjoyed a harmonious relationship with the citizens of the Annapolis Valley.

Among the wide range of social and recreational activities available at the Wing are camping and cabin facilities and a par 72 18-hole golf course. Members and their families will find a host of clubs and active programs offered on the base.

At the main entrance to CFB Greenwood is the Greenwood Aviation Museum housing items of interest to the military as well as the general public. This newly opened facility traces the history of RAF/RCA/CFB Greenwood from its inception in 1942 to the present day.

The 14 Wing Greenwood Military Family Resource Centre is a not-for-profit charitable society providing programs and services to Wing employees and their families.

Outside the base, the Village of Greenwood offers live theatre, sports facilities, shopping amenities as well as cultural programs.
