Flight Safety (Cdn Air Div FS)

The 1 Cdn Air Div Flight Safety team provides a variety of specialist services to the command staff including advice on flight safety issues, human factors, risk management and Flight Safety education. All flight safety occurrences are monitored and the implementation of preventive measures are tracked by the team. Additionally the team administers the Air Force’s Basic Flight Safety Course five times a year, teaching candidates prevention strategies, risk management, investigative techniques and report writing. The team also conducts the Advanced Flight Safety Course once a year which expands on these concepts and prepares Officers and NCMs for Wing Flight Safety appointments. Additionally, Cdn Air Div FS completes formal safety surveys of all Air Force Wings as well as providing 1 Cdn Air Div personnel with educational briefings.
