Regional Cadet Support Unit Prairie (RCSU)
The Region Cadet Support Unit (Prairie) was officially established as
a Canadian Forces Unit on 1 August 2000. The Commanding Officer of the
Region Cadet Support Unit (Prairie) is responsible to advise the Commander
on operational level issues, training, policies and requirements of the
cadet program.
The Region Cadet Support Unit (Prairie) provides services and support
required to operate and maintain the Royal Canadian Sea, Army and Air
cadet programs throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Northwestern
Ontario.
Currently the region consists of 3 Cadet Detachments, a Regional Cadet
Instructors School, a Regional Gliding School, 9 Gliding Centres, 6 Sail
Centres, 4 Adventure Training Centres, 4 Cadet Summer Training Centres
and an aircraft maintenance facility.
There are 219 cadet units in Prairie Region with over 8900 cadets and
1200 Cadet Instructor Cadre members.
