The National Arts Centre congratulates the winners of the 25th Anniversary National Finals of the Canadian Improv Games

Ottawa -- For all loyal supporters and interested parties who have
followed the Canadian Improv Games 25th Anniversary Year
competitions from coast to coast, the National Arts Centre is
delighted to announce the results of the National Finals, held on
Saturday, April 13 in the Theatre at the National Arts Centre in
front of an enthusiastic and high-energy audience. For the first
time, Regina Team, Dr. Martin Leboldus High School, took first place
in the National Finals.
Coached by high-school teacher and playwright, Dan Macdonald
(whose play Pageant will be featured in this year's NAC
produced On the Verge...theatre new works festival), this
year's winning team is excited and proud to have been a part of
this "loving" competition. With the emphasis strongly on having fun,
the Games have become a remarkable example of what talented,
enthusiastic and energetic young people and volunteers can
accomplish.
The National Arts Centre would like to congratulate all the
students whose hard work and commitment have made this
25th Anniversary year a very special one for the Canadian
Improv Games and would like, in particular, to congratulate the 18
talented teams from Victoria, BC to St. John's, Nfld., whose wit
and skill won them a place in the National Semi-Finals.

2nd place Westwood Community Secondary, Fort McMurray,
Alberta
3rd place Lisgar Collegiate Institute, Ottawa
4th place Cardinal Carter Academy, Toronto
5th place KCVI, Kingston, Ontario
