Ottawa - The National Arts Centre English Theatre is proud to present the Canadian Premiere of Lulie the Iceberg, a delightful adaptation for the stage by Raymond Storey of the popular children’s book by Her Imperial Highness Princess Hisako Takamado of Japan. A co-production of Topological Theatre (Toronto) and Kageboushi Theatre Company (Japan), this visually stunning play, told using Japanese shadowplay, songs and colourful costumes, offers audiences an original story about the living earth, the environment and the importance of friendship. Lulie is an inquisitive young iceberg, who longs to travel to the South Pole to meet the Elders of his kind. With the help of Kiki, the Arctic Tern, Lulie embarks on an exciting voyage south, making many new friends and discovering the wonders of the world along the way. A menagerie of dolphins, whales and tropical birds create the magical world that Lulie explores.
