Ottawa -- On Wednesday, June 11, the Magnetic North Theatre Festival kicks off its very first edition, bringing together the countrys most noted actors, directors, playwrights, presenters and producers in an eclectic series of outstanding performances and events.
Running June 11–21 in Ottawa, Magnetic North is a brand new national festival of Canadian theatre in English. It is co-presented by the National Arts Centre and hosted by the Great Canadian Theatre Company, Ottawa Little Theatre, Arts Court and the University of Ottawa.

Andy Joness To The Wall
One of Canadas greatest comic minds in a hilarious one-man show that takes a jab at everything from Newfoundlanders to God. Runs June 11-15, GCTC.
Marie Clementss Burning Vision
With remarkable staging and spectacular sound and lighting, Burning Vision traces the journey of uranium from Dene land to the Hiroshima bomb. Runs June 11-14, NAC Theatre.
Gordon Pinsent Launches Sensational Magnetic Encounters Series
Celebrity Speakers Series: 6:15 p.m.,NAC Salon
Begins with acclaimed actor, director and writer Gordon Pinsent on June 12, followed by many others!
Tea With The Artists: 4 – 5 p.m., NAC Salon
Artists featured at Magnetic North in live interviews. Kicks off with Andy Jones on June 14.
Lunchtime Panel Discussions: 1:30 – 2:30, NAC Fourth Stage
Provocative debates over lunch throughout the Festival. Begins June 11 with a discussion on Ottawas Place in English Canadian Theatre, hosted by Micheline Chevrier.
