The National Arts Centre wants to ensure that as many students as possible are exposed to – and seduced by -- the incomparable thrill of a live music, theatre, or dance performance. It’s more romantic than speed-dating, more fun than the movies -- and it won’t reduce brain-wave activity like watching TV. Forget about “reality programming” – we guarantee that live onstage reality is six hundred billion times better!

Student Subscriptions -- 50% off the regular subscription price!
If you are a full-time student at a primary, secondary, or post-secondary school, bring your valid student ID card to the NAC Subscription Office and save big bucks on a season subscription to the NAC Orchestra, English Theatre, French Theatre, or Dance. Each artistic discipline offers several subscription series to choose from – and you can even create your own ‘Designer’ subscription in Music and Dance.
The small print: only one subscription may be purchased per student ID card and the 50% student discount is calculated before the NAC Facility Fee (approximately $2 per ticket) is applied

Why wait until the Live Rush last minute and risk missing a sold-out show? A limited number of half-price student tickets is available for every performance – this guarantees you a seat, and you can buy your tickets anytime after Labour Day for any show in the regular season.
The small print: student tickets (one per student) must be purchased in person at the NAC Box Office. You’ll need a valid student ID card, and, of course, purchase is subject to ticket availability. Student tickets are available for NAC performances* only, but not to “rentals”, such as some touring concerts or shows.

The NAC’s World-Famous Live RushTM Programme – low cost last-minute tickets!
Begun in September 2000, the National Arts Centre's Live Rush™ programme offers full-time high school, college and university students (aged 13-29) in Ottawa-Gatineau an easy way to purchase specially discounted same-day tickets to music, theatre and dance at the National Arts Centre.
Students with a valid Live Rush™ membership card may buy up to 2 tickets per performance at the discount price of only $10 per ticket. On the day of the performance, all unsold tickets for Live Rush™ -eligible performances will be made available to Live Rush™ members between 14:00 and 18:00 or 2 hours before a matinee performance. With the exception of Opera Lyra Ottawa performances (where Live Rush™ seating is in the Rear Balcony only), this includes all available seats, including the best seats in the house.
