National Arts Centre Orchestra Association -- "For Your Information" series begins November 29 with Tamara Kater, Music Education
November 25, 2003 -
This year, the National Arts Centre Orchestra Association (NACOA) starts off its popular four-part For Your Information series on Saturday, November 29 at 10:30 a.m., with Tamara Kater, Music Education Assistant, who will talk about the valuable partnership NACOA has with the Orchestra in taking music education to area schools. One of the NAC Orchestra's "Musicians in the Schools" participants will demonstrate some of the musical approaches that have been so successful.
This will be an interesting morning as the Orchestra has received plaudits for the more than 70 educational sessions they gave on their recent United States and Mexico Tour. These reports were not surprising for people in the National Capital Region where a robust music programme for children and young adults has been a part of the cultural scene for the past few years.
Saturday's session is an opportunity to find out what is in store for the young musicians and music lovers of the capital area - and NACOA's supporting role.
