May 05, 2004 -

Ottawa, Canada -- Violinist Jing Wang, First Prize winner of the 1997 Canadian Music Competitions and First Prize winner of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra Competition in 1998, is the final artist to perform in recital on the 2004 National Arts Centre and CBC Radio Two Debut Series. With pianist Daniel Spiegel, Jing Wang will perform the music of Kreisler, Prévost, Franck and Ravel on Wednesday, May 19 at 12:00 noon in the NAC Studio.

These hour-long recitals, co-presented by the NAC and CBC Radio Two, give young Canadian musicians the opportunity to perform at the National Arts Centre and to have their recitals recorded and broadcast nationally on CBC Radio Two. Admission is $2.00 with all proceeds going to the NAC Orchestra Bursary Trust Fund. Additional donations to the Fund are greatly appreciated.

Jing Wang and Daniel Spiegel will perform Kreisler’s Praeludium and Allegro, Improvisation for violin solo by Canadian composer André Prévost, Franck’s Sonata for Violin and Piano in A major, and Ravel’s Tzigane.
