Final NACOA “Behind the Music” session features bassoonist Vincent Parizeau
May 10, 2005 -
The National Arts Centre Orchestra Association (NACOA) will present Vincent Parizeau, bassoonist with the NAC Orchestra, as the final artist in its “Behind the Music” season. The series of encounters has allowed audiences to enjoy an increased appreciation of the artistry and skills of the musicians, while the musicians have enjoyed the opportunity to talk directly and informally to the people they play for.
Vincent will take advantage of that informality to have the seats arranged in a seminar-horseshoe shape so that he can demonstrate how a bassoon is made and played, and how he makes his own reeds. He invites questions and comments.
A native of Montreal, Vincent Parizeau has played in a number of orchestras including the Orchestre symphonique de Laval, the Orchestre des Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal and the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal where he played for a season before joining the National Arts Centre Orchestra at the beginning of the 2004-05 season.
Vincent takes the place of Christopher Millard whose schedule made it impossible for him to participate.
