The third season of Kinderconcerts for 3- to 6-year-olds begins this weekend on February 19 in the Panorama Room presented by the NAC Orchestra and Jeunesses Musicales Canada

Ottawa, Canada -- The National Arts Centre Orchestra and Jeunesses Musicales Canada are again collaborating to present a four-part Sunday afternoon “Kinderconcerts” series designed to introduce 3- to 6-year-olds to the magic of music and rhythm in a variety of forms. Each fifty minutes programme is presented at 13:30 in English and at 15:00 in French in the intimate setting of the NAC Panorama Room. Bring cushions for the kids! Seating is on the floor.

Meet some amazing characters, visit some extraordinary villages, and enjoy the lively and enticing rhythms of Villa-Lobos, Bizet and Piazzolla. You’ll return from this musical journey with a wonderful tan, a head full of notes, and a fistful of sunshine!

Mission to Planet Alliage

It’s the year 2084, and our three heroes are on a spaceship bound for the mysterious planet Alliage. Their mission: to communicate with its inhabitants, who have no vocal cords – so music seems like a good way to start the conversation. An unforgettable flight of intergalactic fancy!

Starring The Impact Brass Quintet: Samuel Vero, trumpet and narration; Frédéric Demers, trumpet; Marjolaine Goulet, French horn; Jean-Michel Malouf, trombone; Jean-François Bélisle, tuba; Hugo Bégin, piano

To the sound of the trumpet, the horn, the trombone, the tuba, and piano here come brave young Peter, Grandfather Hubert, Carlos the cat, Edward the duck, Julie the magpie, and of course the Big Bad Wolf. A truly delightful musical tale!
