National Arts Centre Foundation launches $1.5 million Annual Fund Campaign for 2002-2003
October 04, 2002 -
Ottawa (Canada) -- The National Arts Centre Foundation today
announced it hoped to raise $1.5 million through its 2002-2003 Annual
Fund Campaign, almost half of the Foundation's overall $3.5
million fundraising goal for this year.
"The ongoing annual support from our donors is at the heart of
efforts to fund youth initiatives, artistic expansion and community
programs." said Darrell Gregersen, CEO of the National Arts Centre
Foundation, which oversees donations to the National Arts Centre.
"Without the Annual Fund supporters many of the National Arts
Centre's most worthy initiatives would simply not be
possible"
Funds raised from the 2002-2003 Annual fund Campaign will be
divided as follows:
$600,000 will go to the National Youth and Education Trust in
support of programs for young audiences, such as Live Rush, and
initiatives for up and coming artists such as the Young Artists
Programme and the Conductors Programme;
$700,000 will go towards fostering artistic excellence through the
creation of new works and co-productions in dance, music and theatre
as well as bringing world-class artists to the National Arts
Centre;
$200,000 will go to local programming on the Fourth Stage, a
performance space at the National Arts Centre for artists and
creative groups in the National Capital Region.
The Donors' Circle Annual Fund Campaign contributes to
artistic activities that reflect the NAC's strategic goals,
including a focus on artistic expansion and innovation, a greater
commitment to youth and educational activities and a dramatic
increase in earned revenues initiatives. The National Arts Centre
Foundation also raises funds from special events, corporate
sponsorship and other foundations.
