The National Arts Centre increases customer service with the introduction of electronic newsletters for all artistic disciplines
March 03, 2003 -
OTTAWA -- In an effort to keep in touch and build closer
relationships with lovers of the performing arts in Ottawa and around
the world, the National Arts Centre (NAC) is offering a new service
to its patrons: distribution of electronic NAC newsletters to anyone
who wishes to receive one. The newsletters are free and will be sent
by email; patrons can choose newsletters for Music and Dance in
English or French, an English Theatre newsletter in English, or a
French Theatre newsletter in French.
Each e-newsletter will offer inside information on its prime
subject, performances coming up at the National Arts Centre. In the
2002-2003 season, the NAC is presenting 428 separate events in
Southam Hall, the Theatre, and the Studio. The intimate Fourth Stage
is also packed more than 200 nights of the year, and an e-newsletter
for this venue will be launched at a later date.
Although content for each e-newsletter is still under wraps, each
e-newsletter subscriber will receive news about upcoming shows,
artist profiles and interviews, and well as promotions, special
offers, and discounts unavailable anywhere else.
In mid-February, the NAC alerted some 18,000 patrons about this
exciting initiative, and almost 1000 arts lovers have requested the
e-newsletters since then.
Patrons can sign up for an e-newsletter by clicking on the
'Become and NAC e-member' icon on the National Arts
Centre's website, www.nac-cna
and can 'unsubscribe' or update their membership profile at
any time.
