ROCK TO BETTY AND THE BOBS IN THE FOURTH STAGE, including the post-performance party and classic midnight countdown
The seven all-star musicians known as Betty and the Bobs perform a lively mix of country, blues, folk and R&B music served up with generous quantities of humour and virtuosity. The group was formed as an extracurricular vehicle for a group of Toronto musicians and friends who had worked together in different combinations. They love to perfrom all the songs they have ever wanted to do, but could never get around to doing in their own bands. This includes a bunch of old tunes they grew up with -- country, blues, R&B, Beatles, gospel, old jazz, as well as some wacky original songs. Betty and the Bobs band members are Suzie Vinnick (vocals, bass, guitar, and mandolin), Katherine Wheatley (vocals and guitar), David Woodhead (vocals, bass, and mandolin), Wendell Ferguson (vocals and guitar), Soozi Schlanger (vocals and fiddle), Rich Greenspoon (drums) and Dave Matheson (vocals and piano). The show is in the intimate Fourth Stage at 21:00. Tickets for Betty and the Bobs are $65, which includes admission to the post-performance New Year's Eve party in the main lobby, live band, dancing, sparkling wine and dessert table. With dinner, tickets for Betty and the Bobs are $130.
