July 29, 2004 - Ottawa (Canada) - The National Arts Centre (NAC) and the Public Service Alliance Commission (PSAC), Local 70291 (Operations), representing seventy general maintenance, parking and security employees, reached an agreement on July 28, 2004.

The four-year agreement, ending December 31, 2007, provides 2.5% economic increase and a 5% market increase for each of the four years of the deal.

"I'm very pleased that we were able to reach an agreement that provides for increases for those employees whose wages had fallen behind the marketplace," said NAC President and CEO Peter Herrndorf. "This is a fair deal that addresses the issue of market adjustments, something both the Union and the NAC agreed on."

The agreement is subject to ratification by both parties.
