Behind the Music on Jan. 22: Orchestra Manager Christopher Dearlove talks about the BC Tour
January 18, 2005 -
Ottawa -- On Saturday, January 22, NACOA (the National Arts Centre Orchestra Association) will hold its second "Behind the Music" talk with Christopher Dearlove, the National Arts Centre Orchestra Manager, as guest speaker. He has many behind-the-scenes stories to tell about last November’s tour of the Orchestra to British Columbia. While they were there, members of the Orchestra gave more than 90 music education classes to young people, many of whom had never heard classical music before. An Orchestra member will demonstrate some of those lessons taught along the way.
Place: Le Salon, National Arts Centre
Time: 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Price: $10 NACOA members; $12 non-members
(Coffee and light refreshments will be served)
Phone Pamela Robinson (523-1799) for ticket reservations. Tickets will also be sold at the door.
All proceeds benefit the National Arts Centre Orchestra music education programmes and the National Arts Centre Young Artists Programme NACOA scholarship.
