OTTAWA -- Due to public demand, a sixth performance of Swan Lake – to be performed by St. Petersburg’s renowned Kirov Ballet and Kirov Orchestra -- has been added. The classical ballet masterpiece with the glorious Tchaikovsky score will now be performed in Southam Hall on Sunday, October 29, at 19:00 as well as on the originally scheduled dates of October 26, 27, 28, and 29. Tickets, ranging from $62 to $115, go on sale to NAC subscribers and donors during Subscriber Priority Week (August 28 – September 2) and to the general public on Tuesday September 5.

Swan Lake – in its exclusive Canadian engagement – quickly generated major buzz and red hot ticket sales since its announcement in mid-April, leading to record numbers of Canril Ballet Series subscribers. This is the first appearance of the Kirov Ballet in Ottawa since 1989.

Swan Lake is part of the National Arts Centre’s Canril Ballet Series, which is generously sponsored by Canril Corporation. The Kirov Ballet and the Kirov Orchestra perform Swan Lake in Southam Hall of the National Arts Centre October 26-29 at 19:00, as well as on October 28-29 at 13:30. Tickets are $62, $77, $97, and $115 for adults and $32.25, $39.75, $49.75, and $58.75 for students (upon presentation of a valid student ID card). Tickets can be ordered from the NAC box office in person, by mail, or by fax at (613) 947-7112; a surcharge of $3 per ticket applies to fax and mail orders.
