The de Havilland Twin Otter is a light, short take-off and landing (STOL), utility transport Aircraft. It is primarily used in search and rescue and secondarily in transport and support to the CF's northern operations.

Following the success of the DHC-3 Otter, de Havilland developed the Twin Otter in the late 60s. Nine Twin Otters were bought by the Canadian Forces in 1971 as a light transport and search and rescue Aircraft. This Twin Otter is on the ramp at Namao, running up its engines prior to a flight.

"Twotter" is the unofficial nickname for the de Havilland CC-138 Twin Otter. This light weight, twin-engined bush Aircraft has been flown by the CF (Canadian Forces) since the late 60's. The Aircraft has a great STOL (Short Take Off and Landing) ability and is used extensively in search and rescue roles.
