Change of Command Parade at 443 MH Squadron

Aug. 11, 2006

SIDNEY, B.C. - Members of the media are invited to cover the change of command parade at 443 Maritime Helicopter (MH) Squadron, which will take place in the hangar (building 17) on Aug. 14 at 11 a.m.

"I'm leaving 443 Squadron with wonderful memories and a great sense of pride in all that we've accomplished," says Lt.-Col. Donald Leblanc, the outgoing commanding officer of 443 MH Squadron.  "The squadron has continued to maintain, fly and support operations on the West Coast with the Sea King helicopters while, as the same time, looking to the future and preparing the way for the transition to the new Cyclone helicopter.  The next few years promise to be exciting ones at 443, and I am confident that Lt.-Col. Allan will skillfully lead the squadron into the future."

Lt.-Col. Stephen Allan, the incoming commanding officer, is coming to the Squadron from SHAPE Headquarters in Casteau, Belgium, where he was involved in obtaining and evaluating Canada's long-term commitments and contributions to NATO.

Col. Alan Blair, the Commander of 12 Wing, will be presiding over the parade, and the Honourable Iona Campagnola, the Lt.-Governor of British Columbia, will be the honoured guest at the ceremony.
