Aircraft

There are 68 CF-18s stationed at 4 Wing Cold Lake. Of the flying units, 410 is the CF-18 operational training squadron. There are also two front-line-deployable operational CF-18 Squadrons: 416 and 441 Tactical Fighter Squadrons.

417 Combat Support Squadron has three CH-146 Griffon helicopters employed on base rescue and national secondary SAR duties.

The British Aerospace's Hawk 115 (CT-155) is part of fighter lead-in training at the Wing under the NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC) program.
