443 Squadron443 Maritime Helicopter Squadron is the West coast operational Sea King squadron.

While 443 Squadron is part of 12 Wing, its home base is in Patricia Bay, British Columbia. It provides four helicopter air detachments known as "HELAIRDETS" in support of Maritime Operations Group Two based in Esquimalt in Victoria, BC.

443 Squadron is equipped with six CH-124 Sea King helicopters which it flies throughout the North Pacific, South Pacific and Indian oceans as well as other waters around the world.

The Squadron provides service to the Navy by manning such ships as HMCS Calgary, Ottawa, Regina, Vancouver, and Winnipeg in the Canadian Patrol Frigate class, and other vessels, including the Huron, Algonquin and Protecteur.

Here at home, 443 Maritime Helicopter Squadron works with the Navy in supporting government efforts to combat drug, fisheries and environmental violations in Canadian waters. Internationally, it supports Navy operations in surface and subsurface surveillance as well as peacekeeping and humanitarian operations.
