The Helicopter Operational Evaluation and Test Facility (HOTEF) at 12 Wing is responsible for all operational testing of new equipment and operating procedures on the CH-124 Sea King.

Essentially, HOTEF is responsible for researching and testing state-of-the-art equipment for the Sea King, to enable crews to operate efficiently while deployed.

HOTEF's motto is "Superbium in Progressum" - Pride in Progress.
