19 Wing Aircraft- CH-149  Cormorant

The Cormorant helicopter hovers as a search and rescue technician is lowered on the hoist from the side door of the aircraft to the ground.<p>

Captain Doug Parker, a Cormorant pilot at 442 Squadron, 19 Wing Comox, verifies coordinates prior  to flying a square grid reference.<p> This flying pattern is used typically in search and rescue missions to locate people, boats or downed aircraft.

Post-flight the CH-149 Cormorant helicopter goes through the bird-bath to remove any residue that may have accumulated on the airframe as a result of the hours flown over salt water.
