Fine Gold Reference Materials Designed specifically as a series of calibration standards for solid sampling spectrometry used in the analysis of fine gold, our reference materials can also be applied to access data obtained through other analytical techniques. Our reference materials are validated using innovative methods which have been published in leading scientific journals.
Preparation High-purity gold is infused with selected elements. The melt is cast into a water-cooled copper mould to produce an ingot, which is then trimmed, homogenized, rolled, annealed and manufactured to its final form.
Homeogeneity Testing Confirms that the distribution of trace elements within the ingot of reference materials is homogeneous.
Quantitative Analysis Determines trace elements using spectrometric techniques. Values are based on determinations by at least two analytical methods.
Gold Bullion Reference Materials These materials provide a quality-control measure to validate the fire assay analysis of gold bullion that is 75 - 95% gold. Fully certified through a collaborative programme of ten independent laboratories, each applying the proof-corrected fire assay to determine silver and gold content in random samples of the reference materials.
High-purity (99999) Gold Reference Materials We also produce a certified high-purity gold reference material which can be used in preparing the proof-corrected assay.
