Capital Plan & Grants

Infrastructure and Transportation manages and implements projects listed in Alberta’s three-year Capital Plan and provides support to Alberta communities through a number of municipal infrastructure grants and the Infrastructure Canada-Alberta Program. The department also leads the Capital Planning Initiative in developing effective and innovative ways to plan and fund government-owned and supported facilities. In addition, the department monitors economic trends and represents the province's interests in national transportation policy and legislation.

Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation is committed to protecting the environment by taking an active role in reducing air emission, providing environmentally responsible management of government-owned and leased facilities, and by supporting the Highway Clean-up Campaign.
