Land"Maintaining a sound and growing economy and a diverse, healthy environment is a challenge and priority that must be shared by all who live in our province." Resource PlanningAlbertans expect sound management of the province's natural resources and environment. Alberta Environment is leading resource planning and sustainable development on behalf of all Albertans. We develop and implement province-wide strategies that integrate industry, government and public uses of Alberta's land and resources. The ministry's sustainable development strategies and environmental programs are concentrated in the areas of Integrated Resource Management, Land Reclamation, Waste Management, and Soil and Groundwater Assessment/Management. Alberta Environment uses legislation and regulations; public input from Albertans, environmental groups, municipalities and industry; and education to achieve the best environmental management practices. |
