Highway 1 and 3 Functional Planning StudyCity of Medicine HatIntroductionAlberta Infrastructure and Transportation is currently conducting a functional planning study of the Highway 1 and 3 corridors in the vicinity of the City of Medicine Hat. The study consists of 2 components: 1. Network Analysis - for the ultimate alignment of Highways 1 and 3 2. Existing Corridor Analysis - for improvements along the existing route This is a long-term planning study, but will provide phased improvements leading to an ultimate freeway for both Highways 1 and 3, consistent with the National Highway Standard for inter-provincial travel. The study is conducted on behalf of Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation by Stantec Consulting Ltd. Your input is a valued component of this study and we encourage you to send in your issues and concerns with respect to this project. We also encourage you to attend any of our five planned open house sessions during the course of this study. The links to the left provide information on the study progress, as well as an opportunity for your feedback directly to the study team. Please check these pages often for the latest information.
