Privacy Statement 

AAND is committed to ensuring your privacy while you visit our site. When you use our website, it automatically collects standard impersonal information used to generate access statistics. This information includes:
  1. Date and time of the request.
  2. Client's IP address and user name (if provided).
  3. Server's site name (based on the internal architecture), the server's machine name, IP address and port number.
  4. HTTP method used in the request (i.e. GET, HEAD, or POST).
  5. Actual file that was requested, along with any query parameters that were passed in the URL.
  6. HTTP and Windows status codes. Followed by the number of bytes sent by the internal server, and then by the client.
  7. Time taken to process the request.
  8. Transport protocol and the version used (typically HTTP/1.0).
  9. Host name of the site (e.g. www3.gov.ab.ca) is next, then the client's browser type.
  10. URL that sent the client to the one being requested.

What does this mean? It means a computer is analyzing digital information such as how many requests a particular file receives, how many times a particular client accesses the server, and the number of requests a server processes in a given time period.

This information is not used to identify individuals who come to the web site. None of this information is disclosed to other public bodies or individuals. It is collected in compliance with section 33 of the Freedom Of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIPP) Act.

The only information collected that is used to identify you is information you give voluntarily. When you submit a question or comment, you may provide your name, e-mail address, or other information. This information is only used to process and respond to your question or comment, and is collected in compliance with section 33 of the Freedom Of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIPP) Act. This information is not disclosed except to authorized personnel who need it to respond to your request.

The personal information you submit is secure once it reaches the government server. In transit between your computer and the server, however, it may not be secure. Cookies

Security
