Library services for Alberta Environment are provided by the Alberta Government Library - Great West Life Site. This library also serves Alberta Sustainable Resource Development and Parks and Protected Areas (part of Alberta Community Development). Formerly known as the Alberta Environment Library, this site contains more than 60 000 books, reports, government documents, videos, maps, periodicals, and annual reports pertaining to environmentally related topics. The library is a depository for Alberta Environment, Alberta Sustainable Resource Development, and Parks and Protected Areas publications. Two copies of all department reports, newsletters and other publications are catalogued and kept in the library collection for lending purposes. The Great West Life Site library is open 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday (excepting statutory holidays), for use by government employees, industry, academia, and members of the public.
