Public Health Laboratories (formerly ProvLab) has been in existence for over 100 years, and operates under Alberta Health Services (AHS) Laboratory Services and is based out of two sites: the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, and the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton.

ProvLab's vision is excellence in public health and specialized microbiology. Our mission is to deliver public health and specialized microbiology for Alberta through leadership and excellence in surveillance, research, specialized laboratory testing and outbreak and emerging infectious diseases response.
