The Ministry of Human Resources and Employment includes the Department of Alberta Human Resources and Employment (AHRE), the Personnel Administration Office, the Alberta Labour Relations Board, the Appeals Commission for Alberta Workers' Compensation, and the Workers' Compensation Board.

The department of Alberta Human Resources and Employment is building Alberta's workforce by:

• Funding education and upgrading programs
• Increasing participation of under-represented groups

Retaining workers in Alberta's labour force

• Promoting safe, healthy and productive workplaces
• Helping to resolve labour disputes
