| Results of a new study on barriers to the adoption of conservation and food safety practices among Alberta producers will be the focus of a forum hosted by the Alberta Environmental Farm Plan Company. Findings of the study will be presented tomorrow in Calgary, in conjunction with the Company’s Annual General Meeting. Therese Tompkins Program Director for AEFP says the study examines whether the adoption of Beneficial Management Practices is affected not only by economic factors, but also by a host of other barriers. She adds understanding how farmers think is critical for AEFP and others working in the field of on-farm environmental sustainability. The day after the forum, there will be a related tour in the Calgary region which will focus on BMP’s. The AGM, study presentation and tour are open to anyone wishing to attend, but those interested are asked to register with the Alberta Environmental Farm Plan Company by either calling 1-866-844-2337 or going on-line to www.albertaEFP.com.
