More than 450 people involved with the beef industry will spend a day getting smarter, more focused and more committed to a successful future. The International Livestock Congress (ILC), a one-day strategic overview event, is being held at the Roundup Centre, Calgary Stampede Grounds, in Calgary on July 14, 2006. The congress is hosted by the Canadian Cattlemen's Association, the International Stockmen's Education Foundation and the Calgary Stampede. This year's theme, Beef 2006: Strategic Thinking for a Changing Industry, reflects an agenda geared to providing as much information and perspective as possible in a single day. From up-to-the-minute topics, to a panel of renowned international speakers, to a unique student program, the conference promises to be a learning and networking experience. The event features high-profile speakers drawn from Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States and Canada. Their expertise covers such essential areas as global trade, commodity markets, currency issues, public policy, consumer tastes and more. ILC has designed a unique feature of the Beef 2006 program and will host 28 Canadian and international agriculture students at the event. To register by phone, contact conference organizer Iris Meck Communications at (403) 686-8407. To register online, go to www.ilccalgary.com. Registration is limited, and early response is recommended.
