Why should you be concerned about emergency planning?
  • All farms have materials with potential to harm people and the environment. Each farm needs an action plan to deal with spills, releases and other emergencies.
  • Emergency planning upfront will help responders save lives, minimize property damage and safeguard the environment in the case of a fire or toxic spill.
  • Alberta Agriculutre is working with teh Alberta Envrionmental Farm Plan Company, the Fire Commissioners Office, Alberta Envrionment and the countues of Camrose and Parkland to develop and test and Alberta Emergency Farm Plan. If you farm in either area and would like to be a part fo the pilot project, please call Laurel Aitken at (780) 427-4231.
