Prescribed Interest Rates

The following table provides the prescribed debit (DR) and credit (CR) interest rates for the 2006 calendar year.

NOTE:
- Credit interest applies only to programs under the Alberta Corporate Tax Act.
- For the International Fuel
Tax Agreement (IFTA) program, debit interest is charged
at the credit (CR) rate plus two percent, effective October
1, 1999. Prior to October 1, 1999, debit interest under IFTA
was charged at the credit (CR) rate. The debit interest rate
for IFTA for the fourth quarter of 2006 is 7%.
