The Healthy Alberta Web site has been established to provide Albertans with reliable information on healthy eating and active living. This site provides links to Alberta and Canadian government organizations, government agencies, registered non-profit organizations and international organizations that have a Canadian affiliation.

This site provides Web site links to organizations that meet the following criteria:

  • The mission of the organization and the purpose of the Web site is identified.
  • The Web site clearly identifies who owns and maintains it, as well as any other organizations that contribute funding, services and content.
  • The Web site provides health information that is evidence-based, accurate and current.
  • The Web site uses language that can be understood by the general public and has a structure that is easy to navigate.
  • The Web site indicates the date when content was changed and provides the source of data and references.
  • The Web site does not require users to pay a fee or provide registration information to use the site.
  • The Web site distinguishes between paid advertisements and information content.
  • The Web site indicates any limitations to the information.
  • Representatives of the organization can be contacted for more information.
  • The Web site does not use cookies or any invasive method of gathering visitor information.
